Butter beans have a creamy texture and taste, and can be served as an accompaniment to a sunday roast. They can be mixed with other beans and served as a base for a dish (rather like you would use pasta), or can be made into a curry.
To cook butter beans, it is best to soak them for a few hours beforehand as this reduces the cooking time. They typically boil within 40 minutes, or around 15-20 minutes in a pressure cooker.
